On December 21st, 2021, at approximately 4:00am Deputy Diemert conducted a traffic stop at State Route 43 and State Route 261 in the City of Kent. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and had nine active warrants for his arrest out of neighboring counties. Probable cause was developed, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During that search an ounce of crystal methamphetamine was located. Smaller amounts of suspected carfentanil and fentanyl, liquid methamphetamine, a digital scale, empty bags, counterfeit money, and other drug paraphernalia were located. Deputies also located a bag of powdered sugar, which is often used as a “cutting” agent for Fentanyl.
The driver was arrested for possession of drugs, the passenger was arrested for trafficking in drugs. Our deputies will continue to be proactive in our enforcement efforts in an attempt to keep these dangerous narcotics from being distributed on the streets of Portage County.

The indictment alleges from on or about September 9, 2020 through on or about January 9, 2021, Marie Allman, 33, aided, abetted, and counseled by Nathan W.
