Women's Self Defense Training Course
The Portage County Sheriff's Office is proud to present our Women's Self Defense Training Course in an effort to empower and educate women to protect themselves in dangerous situations. More information regarding the course and registration process is available below.
Overview
Hands-on Free Course
Throughout this course, our instructors will give direction to students that will increase situational awareness and develop combative skills in times of panic.
Open to Ages 15+
This training is open to those who are 15 years of age and older. Those who are under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at each session. Every participant must complete an application.
Limited Class Space Available
To deliver the best experience to our students, class size is limited. We encourage questions and real-time practice that will allow our participants to receive a quality education that will last for years to come.
Must Attend Both Sessions
Our curriculum will be split into two sessions. To fully complete the course, participants must attend both sessions.

The training course will take place across two - (2) hour sessions. The first session will be held on Monday February 21, 2022 from 5PM-7PM and the second session will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 5PM-7PM.
Nothing! This is a complimentary program hosted by the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
To be eligible to participate, you must reside or work full time in Portage County. You must be 15 years of age or older. Those who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The registration link is available at PortageSheriff.com. All applicants must pass a background check to be admitted to the course.
